The 9th Indian Business Forum (IBF) meeting was held on 16th January, 2020 at Annapoorna Restaurant, Mandaluyong Metro Manila. H.E Ambassador Jaideep Mazumdar updated the members of the latest developments in India-Philippines bilateral relations since the last meeting and informed the members about forthcoming Joint Defence Cooperation Committee Meeting, Joint Defence Industry & Logistics Committee Meeting, Joint Working Group Meeting on Trade and Investment (JWGTI), proposed Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) between India and the Philippines and other high level visits. He requested all the IBF members belonging to various sectors like IT-BPO, Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Agriculture, Textiles & Garments, Consumer goods etc to come up with their issues which could be taken up during the forthcoming JWGTI. During the meeting, screening of video of Hon’ble Indian Foreign Minister’s interaction with the Indian Diaspora abroad held on the occasion of celebration of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on 9th January was organised. Pushkar Misra, President of IBF, welcomed new members and, while briefing all the members about the IBF and current account status, appealed to all those who have not yet registered with IBF to do so. He emphasized that the IBF is a non-stock and non profit organisation, which would always be there to support the Embassy on furthering the bilateral relations between India and the Philippines. About 30 members were present.
