The Embassy of India Manila celebrated the 72nd Independence Day

The Embassy of India Manila celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with great fervour earlier today. The event started with Ambassador Jaideep Mazumdar hoisting the tricolor at India House followed by singing ofNational Anthem. In the event that followed, Ambassador read out excerpts from the speech by Hon'ble President, delivered to the nation on the eve of72nd Independence Day. A group of talented singers known as 'The Community Choir' presented patriotic songs in languages from North-South-East and West of India. Also, Mr. Chong Chiu Sen, a Malaysian-born Carnatic music vocalist presented a beautiful rendition of a classical song. About 300 people, comprising prominent members of Indian community living in the Philippines,Indian Students from various Universities of the Philippines and Friends of India attended the celebrations.
