A wide-ranging, development oriented and forward-looking educational collaboration between Indian and Philippine entities, is an important part of the vibrant bilateral partnership between the two countries.


MoUs between Indian and Philippines’ academic entities : 


In May 2021, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, the top-ranking Indian social sciences institution and Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU), one of the Philippines’ leading universities, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote exchanges in the field of Disaster Studies.

Scholarships offered to students from the Philippines to pursue studies in India :


1. Study in India 


The Study In India (SII) programme is a flagship project introduced by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. With an attractive set of salient features, the programme is a perfect platform for international students including students from the Philippines to experience the best of what Indian education has to offer. From modern and cutting-edge disciplines like Law Management, Humanities, STEM, to niche courses like Buddhist Studies and Yoga, students get access to diverse courses from the top institutes of India. 2. Doctoral fellowship in India for ASEAN


The internationally renowned Institutions in technical education, the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) offer scholars from ASEAN countries PhD fellowships under the’Doctoral fellowship in India for ASEAN’ programme. The institution thrives for its quality education and strict selection criteria. When selected, scholars will be able to complete their Ph.D. with funding from the Government of India. The funding includes a monthly stipend and an annual research grant for up to 5 years of their Ph.D. program.
